Who we are
HomeCostCalc (costbrick.com) provides free planning estimates for home projects. For any privacy request, contact support@costbrick.com. This is the data controller contact for the purposes of the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA.
What we collect
When you submit a form, we collect the name, email address, ZIP code, the answers you give to the calculator questions, and the estimate shown to you. Our hosting provider records basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) in server logs.
Why we use it
We use your information to (a) show and send the estimate you requested, (b) — only when you tick the consent box — contact you about your project and share your project details with licensed local service providers who may contact you with quotes, and (c) operate, secure and improve the site.
Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
If you consent, we may share your contact details and project answers with one or more licensed service providers in your area, and with processors who help us run the site (hosting, email delivery, form processing). We do not sell personal information to unrelated third parties.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email support@costbrick.com. We respond within 30 days (24 hours for deletion requests).
Retention
Lead records are kept for up to 24 months for compliance and dispute resolution, then deleted. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
Cookies and analytics
We use only essential cookies/storage required for the calculators to work. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics or affiliate links in the future, this policy will be updated first and, where required, consent will be requested.
Advertising and affiliate disclosure
This site is free to use. If we display affiliate links or receive referral fees from service providers, we will disclose that clearly next to the link. Estimates are for planning only and are not a contractor quote, legal, tax or financial advice.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
