What this site is
CostBrick (costbrick.com) is a free information and referral service. We publish cost-estimate calculators and, when you ask, we may pass your request to independent local service providers. We are not a contractor, installer, engineer, attorney, accountant, or financial advisor, and we do not perform any work on your property.
Estimates are not quotes
Every number shown is a planning estimate based on published ranges and statewide multipliers. It is not a bid, an offer, or a guarantee of price. Actual prices are set solely by the provider you choose, under the contract you sign with them.
We do not set, negotiate or guarantee provider prices
We do not set prices for providers, we do not negotiate on their behalf, and we do not promise that any provider's price is the lowest or best. Providers compete for your business independently. Any price, schedule or scope is agreed directly between you and the provider.
We do not vet, endorse or guarantee providers
We may share requests with providers who tell us they serve your area. We do not verify licences, insurance, work quality, timeliness or safety, and we do not endorse any provider. You are responsible for verifying a provider's licence, insurance, references and contract terms with your state or local authority before hiring.
Disputes are between you and the provider
Any dispute about workmanship, delay, damage, payment or warranty is between you and the provider you hired. We are not a party to that contract and have no control over the work. We may, at our discretion, help relay messages, but we do not arbitrate or guarantee outcomes.
Provider standards we expect (non-binding)
We ask providers who receive requests to: hold the licence and insurance their jurisdiction requires; respond within a reasonable time; quote honestly and in writing; and honour the terms they agree with the homeowner. These are expectations only. They are not a verification, certification or guarantee by us.
Consent and data
We share your request only when you tick the consent box. Consent is optional and not required to use the calculators. See our Privacy Policy for data rights, retention and deletion.
Referral fees
This site is free. We may receive a referral fee from providers when a request is shared. This never changes the estimate you see, and it does not obligate you to hire anyone.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the site, from any estimate, or from any act or omission of a provider. The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continued use means you accept the current version.
